BACHELOR OF MUSIC
EDUCATION
Students enrolled in the Bachelor of Music Education degree complete coursework in the general education curriculum, as well as core courses in the Department of Education and the
Department of Music. This integration of courses from a variety of disciplines, as well as those offered within the framework of the music department, fulfills the competencies mandated by the Missouri Department of Elementary and Secondary Education, and leads to teacher certification. Instruction is provided by full-time members of the Drury faculty as well as professionals in the field of education. Student teaching and classroom field experiences are enriched and augmented by Drury’s participation in the Comer Project. This is a partnership with Yale University that places Drury University students in three inner-city schools on a regular basis.
